Medicare Resources
A Medigap plan with the same letter covers the same things no matter who sells it. Use the chart to see what each plan pays, then let us compare prices for you.
For each hospital benefit period, not once a year.
After 20 days, rehab in a facility costs you per day.
What you pay for doctor and outpatient care each year before Part B pays.
Your share of most doctor bills, with no yearly cap on what you pay.

*Plans C and F are only open to people who became eligible for Medicare before January 1, 2020. Plans F and G also come in a high-deductible version in some states: you pay the first $2,950 of covered costs in 2026, then the plan pays.
†Plan N pays the Part B coinsurance, except for a copay of up to $20 for some office visits and up to $50 for an emergency room visit that doesn't lead to an inpatient admission.
‡Plans K and L pay 100% of covered services for the rest of the year once you reach the out-of-pocket limit and the yearly Part B deductible.
A Real-World Example
Say you spend four days in the hospital, then see your doctors six times over the year for $2,500 in Medicare-approved care.
With Original Medicare alone, the bills add up fast. Plan G leaves you just the Part B deductible. Plan N adds a few small copays, usually for a lower monthly premium.
Hypothetical example, before monthly premiums. The 20% is figured on the $2,217 left after the Part B deductible. Plan N copays apply only to some office visits, and Plan N doesn't pay Part B excess charges.
Before You Choose
Turning 65 soon?
Your 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period starts the first month you’re 65 or older and have Part B. During it, companies can’t turn you down or charge more for your health.
Thinking about Plan F?
Only people who became eligible for Medicare before 2020 can buy them. For everyone else, Plan G covers everything F does except the Part B deductible.
What about prescriptions?
Medigap doesn’t cover outpatient prescriptions. Pair it with a Part D drug plan, and enroll on time to avoid a lifelong late penalty.
Need dental or glasses?
Medigap doesn’t cover routine dental, vision or hearing aids. A separate dental and vision plan can fill that gap.
Already on Medicare Advantage?
Medigap works only with Original Medicare. You can’t use it with a Medicare Advantage plan, so the two are a real either-or choice.
Is Plan G the same everywhere?
Plan G covers the same things at every company. Premiums, rate history and service don’t match, which is why comparing carriers pays.
We’ll check the Medigap carriers available in Michigan, show you prices side by side and help you pair your plan with the right Part D coverage. In-person or virtual.
Figures are for 2026 and are updated each year. Massachusetts, Minnesota and Wisconsin standardize Medigap differently. Security First Benefits is not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program.
